From Xenia, Ohio, to the UFC
Matt Brown was born in Xenia, Ohio. He started training in Muay Thai and soon moved to mixed martial arts. Within four years he was in the UFC, earning his place through The Ultimate Fighter, Season 7, and making his Octagon debut in 2008.
Over his UFC career he finished 15 opponents, 13 of them by knockout. Only one fighter in UFC history has more KO/TKO wins.
In 2018 he opened Immortal Martial Arts Center to share what he learned. Today the gym runs adult and kids programs in Lewis Center and Gahanna.
Meet Matt Brown, founder and UFC veteran
Hey, guys. I am the Immortal Matt Brown, founder and owner of Immortal Martial Arts Center. I founded it in 2018 after about 20-plus years of training in the martial arts. I started in Muay Thai and pretty quickly transitioned over to MMA. Within four years, I was in the UFC, on The Ultimate Fighter, Season Seven. After winning my final fight on The Ultimate Fighter, I got a contract with the UFC.
Overall, I had about 25 to 30 fights with the UFC. I ended up with a knockout record in my division, the welterweight division, with 13 knockouts, and that turned out to be second in UFC history for the most knockouts. In 2018, I decided to open my own gym and share my knowledge with the world. So I invite all of you to come check it out, and I would love to pass it on to you.
Here in the Lewis Center location of Immortal Martial Arts Center, we have Jiu-Jitsu classes, gi and no-gi. We have judo, so we have Jiu-Jitsu and judo for adults and kids. We have Muay Thai kickboxing, again for adults and kids. Those are our primary programs. We are building out leadership teams, demo teams and tons of other things to keep everybody engaged, keep everybody excited and keep everybody training in the martial arts.
