It is our mission to help our students develop and grow both physically and mentally through progression in martial arts (Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, and boxing) and fitness training. We will accomplish this by offering the highest quality of innovative, enjoyable martial arts and fitness instruction in a fun, clean, safe, and positive environment. We seek to touch the lives of as many individuals as possible through the martial arts.
First things first: learn gym etiquette. Some of this may not make sense on day one, but over time you will completely understand every item on this list. These are not “rules.” This is etiquette. You can be part of the team and add to the culture or you can take away from it. Here are the ways you can help:
1. Be on time.
2. Do not work out by yourself during group training.
3. Ask for help.
4. Learn the system–don’t try to reinvent the wheel!
5. ALWAYS support each other.
6. Demonstrate a positive mental state only. All the time.
7. Understand before being understood.
8. Bow before you step on and off the mats.
9. Maintain excellent hygiene for your body and equipment.
10. Train harder than everyone else.
Understand that the path you have chosen is not an easy one. It is long. It is slow. It is painful. It has ups and downs; it has bumps, bruises, blood, sweat, tears, and more. Understand that some days you’ll want to skip, some days you’ll want to take it easy, some days you’ll want to throw in the towel and just quit altogether. Be prepared for this and have a plan now.
We are here to guide you and assist you on your journey and make it enjoyable as possible. It’s going to be amazing, and I am happy that you have chosen us to be there with you on the ride. You will notice positive changes in your being almost instantly. Revel in that progress and reward yourself for it without taking it for granted. –Matt Brown
